Macquarie Community College were pleased to be announced winners of the best Adult Learners Week event for the second year in a row.
We offered 28 free taster classes and demonstrations during Adult Learners Week in early September and engaged 300 students in a variety of leisure and self improvement classes. For the first time, our event was completely online due to the ongoing Sydney lockdown.
Unsurprisingly, after 10 weeks of lockdown, the most popular classes were Lockdown Haircuts, Self Care During Lockdown, Stay at Home Beauty and Creating a Veggie Patch.
We also offered a variety of classes from our current Leisure and Self Improvement offering, including Flower Arrangement, Acrylic Pouring, Tai Chi, Guitar, Calligraphy, How to Conduct Online Meetings, How to Deal with Difficult People, Foreign Languages, Meditation and more!
We received some great feedback from our students:
“It gave me the opportunity to find out what acrylic pouring was and how difficult /easy it would be to take further.”
