Julie Quinn: From Healthcare to Canine Care
Julie brings many years of experience as a registered nurse and midwife specialising in emergency and trauma care. Alongside her medical career, she has competed in dog conformation and has been a Golden Retriever breeder for 15 years.
Julie is actively involved in large group dog walking, where she expertly manages dog behaviour issues. Her dual passion for healthcare and animal care makes her an invaluable resource for dog owners.
Narelle Brown: Advocating for Dogs and Their Owners
Narelle’s background as a financial counsellor and consumer advocate allows her to focus on education and support for vulnerable communities. Currently, she provides individual dog training and pet nanny services. Her work includes trick training, scent work, leash management, and problem-solving.
Narelle’s expertise in education enhances her ability to communicate effectively with dog owners, making her a great asset in our training programs.
A Shared Passion for Dog Training
Julie and Narelle came together through their love for dogs and a commitment to educating owners. They have volunteered as obedience instructors at a local dog club for the past ten years. Their mission is clear: to promote healthy and happy dogs while empowering owners with the skills they need.
“There is so much to learn,” they emphasize, acknowledging the journey of new puppy owners.
Through their courses, they aim to inspire confidence in owners and provide solutions to common canine behaviour issues.
Dog Training Classes: Transforming Dog Behaviour
Julie and Narelle’s training goes beyond just techniques; they focus on the emotional well-being of both dogs and their owners.
One memorable case involved a usually calm dog that began lunging at other dogs and people. After careful consultation, they discovered that the owner’s stress was affecting the dog. By implementing a tailored plan, they helped the owner gain confidence and develop strategies that transformed their walks into enjoyable experiences.
“This experience taught us that it’s not always about the dog,” they reflect.
The bond between owner and pet is crucial, and understanding the emotional connection can lead to lasting positive changes.
