Juliana Teon and her Journey in Early Childhood Education

Juliana Teon’s story is a true testament to the power of community education and personal growth. After navigating career shifts, migration, and motherhood, she rediscovered her passion for Early Childhood Education at Macquarie Community College.

During Adult Learners Week Writing Competition her writing entry, “Personal Growth Through Community Education,” captures the inspiring journey of self-discovery and determination.

From Corporate to Early Childhood

Juliana began her career with big dreams! Fueled by a Marketing degree, she was ready to take on the professional world. However, she quickly found herself in a toxic and competitive environment, which drained her passion and left her unfulfilled. In search of joy, she made a life-changing decision. She applied for a preschool teaching role and instantly felt a sense of purpose upon stepping into the classroom.

“I realised I could make a positive impact in their lives,” Juliana wrote, describing one of the happiest moments of her life.

A Fresh Start in Australia

Juliana’s journey took another turn when her family moved to Australia. With three young children, she put her career on hold to embrace motherhood. While she cherished these moments, her desire for personal growth never faded. She had always wanted to pursue a qualification in Early Childhood Education, and as her 40th birthday approached, the urge to follow her dreams intensified.

Finding Her Path in Early Childhood Education

Juliana’s search for educational opportunities led her to the Macquarie Community College website, where she discovered CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. The timing seemed perfect!

She could complete the course just before her birthday—a milestone she was eager to celebrate. With excitement and a little nervousness, Juliana contacted Macquarie Community College. The process went smoothly, and she was accepted immediately. This was the start of a new chapter.

Support and Encouragement Along the Way

Juliana credits her trainer, Magdalena Rosandi, for providing the support and encouragement she needed.

“The classroom transformed into a space of collaboration and inspiration,” she says.

With just two weeks left in her course and work placement on the horizon, Juliana reflects on how far she has come. Her journey at Macquarie Community College has been more than just a qualification — it’s a commitment to personal growth and the impact she can make as an educator.

Looking Ahead with Gratitude

Juliana is filled with excitement for the future.

“This journey represents my commitment to personal growth and the positive influence I can have on the children I will teach,” she shares.

Her gratitude for Macquarie Community College and the opportunities it has provided is evident. She’s ready to embrace the endless possibilities ahead.

Rekindling Dreams and Endless Possibilities

Juliana’s story is a beautiful reminder that it’s never too late to chase your dreams. Macquarie Community College played a key role in reigniting her passion for education and personal growth. Her story shows the transformative power of community education and the endless possibilities that come from following your heart.
