As part of its economic response to COVID-19, the Australian Government is subsidising free or lowfee training courses across the nation through its $1 billion JobTrainer Fund to provide approximately
320,000 additional training places in areas of identified skills need such as health, aged and disability care, IT and trades for job seekers and young people, including school leavers.
The NSW Government has committed $320 million to delivering 100,000 fee-free training places across the state. As an approved provider, Macquarie Community College has training places & funding available.

Jobtrainer saves the day for Carolyn
When Carolyn was stood down in March by her airline, she knew she had to take charge of her career and re-skill in another area.
She noticed that one of the most in-demand jobs were roles in aged care and disability care. Carolyn enrolled at the perfect time and was able to take advantage of fee-free* training under the NSW Government's Skilling for Recovery program through the Australian Government's JobTrainer Fund,
potentially saving her thousands of dollars!

Everything old is new again!
When you reach the milestone of 70 years of continuous operations it is great that we can draw on
our decades of experience to re-invent some great things we have done before – and move them into
our future.
Firstly, Macquarie Community College is re-opening in Blacktown in 2021! We are very excited to be
opening another MCC campus at 125 Main Street. The College is well known and loved in Blacktown
after having been located there for almost 20 years until mid-2017. Check our class timetable for
details on our courses in Blacktown.
Secondly, part of our Carlingford campus which started its life as a School in 1886 – will again be used
for that, but in our new and unique Gateway Community High, an independent “alternative” high
school for 30 students in Years 9 and 10.
Flexible Covid-safe learning options
We are very proud of our staff and students, who have navigated the shift to social distancing, hand
sanitizer, QR codes and…the great flexibility of learning in the comfort of their own home via Zoom.
In 2021 we will still be working within our Covid-safe plans to look after the health and safety of our
communities – and we will offer a mix of face to face, Zoom plus workshops and Zoom only classes.
