Recently we held our Seniors Week 2024 event for the NSW Seniors Festival which celebrates the valuable contributions of seniors within our communities. It also aims to encourage our Seniors to stay active, healthy and connected within their communities.
We shared a wonderful day filled with laughter, learning, and the joy of connection as we came together to celebrate the wisdom and vitality of our seniors, whilst reminding them to stay curious and Never Stop Learning!
Our Seniors Week event was a testament to the vibrancy and curiosity that defines our senior community. From Ars & Crafts to Foreign Language, Fitness and beyond, there was something for every senior to enjoy.
It was also amazing to see that our Tech Savvy Seniors classes were a hit among attendees, offering valuable insights into the world of technology, smartphones to connecting to family and friends online. Our tutor David Vasey watched proudly as seniors gained the confidence to navigate the digital landscape.
The Tech Savvy Seniors program which has proudly been offered by the College since 2013, allows us to strongly support seniors in the community and provide affordable learning programs. Funded in partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra, participants must be over 60 years old and can attend our Tech Savvy Seniors classes for only $10!
Throughout the day, it was heartwarming to see seniors connecting with one another, sharing stories, and forging new friendships. Whether they were sharing wisdom in between classes or enjoying a cup of tea together during the breaks, our seniors demonstrated the power of community and camaraderie.
As we wrapped up our Seniors Week 2024 event, we couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to come together and celebrate the incredible individuals who make up our senior community. Their energy, enthusiasm, and zest for life are truly an inspiration to us all, and we look forward to many more years of learning and laughter together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Seniors Week 2024 – it was a day we will cherish and we hope you will too!
