Bushwalking – Sunday Adventure Bushwalks Package includes all the walks for this term at a discounted price. Alternatively, you can book each bushwalk individually, allowing you to tailor your adventure to your interests and schedule.
Our resident bushwalking guide, Greg Williams will lead you on an adventure through Sydney’s breathtaking landscapes. With over 33 years of experience, Greg offers four magnificent hikes each term across the Sydney and Greater Sydney Basin.
The bushwalks range from introductory and easy-medium hikes to more moderately challenging trails, some with slight technical elements.Our trails cater to various fitness levels, with both half-day and full-day options available.
Experience Nature’s Beauty
On our bushwalks, you’ll feel nature’s invigorating endorphins as you explore secluded habitats, historic sites with ancient artifacts, and lush, tree-lined gullies. Enjoy the serene sound of cascading brooks and find isolated freshwater pools perfect for a quick rest. Keep an eye out for native animals and enjoy the breathtaking views from awe-inspiring lookouts.
Each bushwalk includes a delightful morning tea with tea, coffee, and delicious chocolate treats to keep you energized for the journey ahead.

- Bushwalk 1 – Sirius Cove to Rocky Point
- Bushwalk 2 – Beyond Milyerra
- Bushwalk 3 – Cataract Falls to Willawong Pool
- Bushwalk 4 – Grand Lookouts of The Hawkesbury

Entry requirements
Macquarie Community College conducts a wide range of bushwalks for people who have limited bushwalking experience through to the experienced bushwalker.
Most bushwalking trails are generally suitable for those who have a reasonable level of fitness, although the bushwalks that have been graded “introductory” are usually suitable for those who have limited bushwalking experience.

What you need to provide
On our bushwalks you will need:
- Sturdy comfortable shoes
- Clothes for all weather conditions
- Wet weather gear (if required)
- Hat
- Small backpack
- Sunscreen, sunglasses
- Snacks, lunch
- Water bottles
A Course Information Guide regarding the four bushwalks will be provided the week before the first bushwalk. Please consult the Course Information Guide prior to each walk for comprehensive information on meeting places, start times, travel directions and more.
Other information
Participants should arrange their own transport to arrive at each meeting place on time, allowing the group to start as scheduled.
We may occasionally reschedule bushwalks to alternative locations due to park closures, bushfires, flooding, or other unforeseen circumstances. We usually communicate any amendments by email or phone on the Friday or Saturday before the walk.

- Macquarie Community College reserves the right to alter or postpone the bushwalk/s or part thereof due to extremes of weather or changes to operational conditions such as road closures, bushfires or conditions beyond our usual control. Every effort will be made to keep to the itinerary and advertised departure times, but no guarantee can be made and no compensation shall be made for failure to meet those times.
- Our bushwalks take place in all but exceptional weather conditions. Conditions such as mist, fog showers, rain and windy conditions do not usually affect the event operation. However, if the weather is deemed to be extreme, the event/s will be postponed to another date. Pre-paid event fees will be credited to the new date or a future event.
