Course Overview
Gain strength, flexibility, muscle tone and improve your general wellbeing, while you learn to relax and concentrate with our Hatha Yoga classes!
Hatha yoga uses a combination of breathing, exercise and deep relaxation to align the body and clear the mind. You will learn vinyasa and asanas (stretching and yoga postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation and relaxation techniques.
This course is suitable for beginners and requires no prior experience.
By the end of this course, you may experience relief of stress, stabilised blood pressure, assistance in digestion and weight loss, assistance in achieving a better night’s sleep and a positive effect on overall health and energy levels.

- Yoga can assist in the relief of stress, stabilise blood pressure, assist in digestion and weight loss, assist in achieving a better night's sleep and have a positive effect on overall health and energy levels.
What you need to know
Entry requirements
No prior experience of yoga is necessary.
What you need to provide
- Yoga mat (sticky mat to assist in standing and seated postures)
- Blankets (to sit on and use throughout the class)
- Comfortable and flexible clothing
- Cool drink
Other information
- Students sign a medical/ information form at the first class.
- If you are new to exercise or have a pre-existing condition, please seek information from their GP before participating.
- Avoid eating a heavy meal two hours before the class. Please do not drink for one hour prior to class or during the class. Please have plenty of water earlier on during the day.
- Ladies: For comfort, avoid bras with underwire for yoga classes.
- Student's health needs are considered and alternative postures are provided to meet individual health issues, level of strength, flexibility and fitness.
- In this course, we progress from an introduction to the history and philosophy of yoga to experiencing the connection or union between the breath, movements, and the mind.
- The course includes meditation and relaxation practices and provides an overview of yoga for those who have never practiced yoga before.
- Intermediate students will also be able to learn a higher level of Hatha Yoga in this course.
