Dogs Matter – Canine Loss and Grief

Course Overview

Animal grief occurs when we lose a pet. Canine Loss and Grief is often underestimated and misunderstood by our friends, family and our social network which can often escalate feelings of sadness, loneliness and pain.

The attachment we felt towards our pets, the unconditional love and companionship that is no longer there can be intense and traumatic.

Canine Loss and Grief workshop aims to explain the normal stages of canine loss and grief. We will provide strategies to celebrate the loss and move forward remembering the pet with joy and love.

Whether you wish to understand the grief process to support a friend, or child or you have lost your own pet this workshop will assist attendees to provide a new perspective to loss and grief. While this is not a counselling session, education and a better understanding can empower us to better manage our grief.

Macquarie Community College operates from a range of venues across Northern and Western Sydney. We have campuses in Blacktown, Carlingford, Chatswood, Epping, Mt Druitt, Richmond, and Ryde. Enrol now!
