Course Overview
Join our patchwork, appliqué and quilting course. This course commences at the beginning for those with no prior knowledge of patchwork, appliqué and quilting to those already working on a project. Also help more experienced needle worker wanting to expand to an advanced level.

What you will learn
Course outline
In this course you will learn:
- Learn how to follow and read written instructions and diagrams
- Instruct on using your sewing machine, 1/4″ foot and walking foot
- Learn how to use tools (rotary cutter, cutting mat and inch cutting ruler) to cut fabric correctly
- Instruct on appropriate needles, thread and fabric
- Learn how to make bags, quilts and other projects
Course outcome
- At the end of the course you will understand the basics in making patchwork
- Stitching pieces of fabric together in a pleasing design
- This will give you the confidence to continue onto your next project

Entry requirements
This course is suitable for beginners or intermediate.
What you need to provide
You will need to bring:
- Class notes at the beginning of term
- Clean or serviced Sewing Machine with all accessories and instruction book
- 1/4″ Foot and Walking Foot for their machine
- Machine thread – cotton or poly cotton
- Rotary cutter
- Cutting mat
- Patchwork inch measuring ruler
- Tape measure
- Paper scissors and fabric scissors
- Sewing kit
- Glass head pins
- Mechanical pencil, pen and note book
- Further requirements will be discussed at the first lesson.
