What you will learn
Course outline
This course will involve a combination of teacher demonstrations and student practical work. Students will be guided step by step by tutor though individual projects.

- Washes, wet on wet, wet on dry, masking
- Colour mixing and mingling
- Creating textures
- Perspective
- Preliminary Sketching
- Seascapes
- Landscapes
- Still Life
- Flowers

- Pen and wash
- Letting the paint "do it's own thing"/beautiful happenstance
Course outcome
- By the end of the course you should know the basics of watercolour painting. Be able to choose a suitable subject to paint, frame the image on the page for impact, choose which techniques would be most suitable to use, and produce your own watercolour paintings.
What you need to know
Entry requirements
No prior knowledge necessary. This course is applicable for beginners or for those with some experience wishing to further develop their skills.
What you need to provide
- Bring a notebook and pen
- First lesson – bring pencils and paper, and any watercolour paints and brushes you may already have.
- You will need to purchase your own paints and brushes. Information on what to buy and demonstration of types of paints given at the first class
