Course Overview

Welcome to French Advanced, tailored for learners who have completed our French Intermediate course, or have completed intermediate study elsewhere and have basic French conversational skills.

If you are ready to take their French language skills to a higher level don’t miss out on the opportunity to build your skills and knowledge. This advanced course is largely conducted in French to immerse you in the language and further enhance your listening skills.

This course offers you the opportunity to perfect specific areas of grammar and vocabulary, with a strong emphasis on advanced-level conversation practice. The content of the classes is designed in consultation with students, taking into account their abilities and interests.

You will receive comprehensive course notes to support your learning journey and by completion you will have refined your language skills, engaged in advanced-level conversations, and deepened your understanding of French grammar and vocabulary.

What you will learn

Course outline

Topics covered:

  • Speaking and participating in a conversation
  • Practising useful vocabularies, spoken expressions, tenses and sentence structure in a simple fashion
  • Being capable of speaking about personal experiences and events, hopes and dreams, personal objectives etc.
  • Expressing yourself fluently when giving explanations of personal opinions or projects, telling a story, the plot of a movie, the recipe for a favourite dish
  • Listening and comprehension
  • Comprehension of the essential points of the language about familiar topics such as family, school, work, leisure time activities
  • Comprehension of the essentials of radio/television programs about the diversity of daily news or about personal or professional interests
  • Sentence structure
  • Practising essential tenses such as the practical usage of the conditional in everyday spoken language

Students will need to have completed a minimum of two years’ study, and have basic French conversational skills.

How to Enrol

Step 1 - Choose Your Course

  • Select the non-accredited short course you are interested in.
  • Find a day and time that suits your schedule.

Note: Enrolment is open to anyone 18 years or older.

Step 2 - Enrol and Verify

  • Click ‘Enrol Now’ after selecting your course and schedule.
  • Enter your details on the enrolment page.
  • Verify your email through a secure link sent to your email address.
  • Complete the secure checkout and payment process.

Step 3 - Receive Your Enrolment Details

  • You will receive an immediate enrolment confirmation email upon successful enrolment. Check and read the attached Terms and Conditions.
  • The payer of the enrolment will receive a tax invoice immediately after processing.
  • You will receive a course reminder email a day before your class begins.
  • For Online Zoom classes, a Zoom link and password will be emailed the day before class. Use the same link and password for subsequent sessions if applicable.
