Course Overview

Learning Spanish in Sydney can be difficult, that’s why our Introduction to Spanish courses are suitable for absolute beginners. No prior knowledge of the language is assumed.

Our Spanish teachers will speak Spanish in class to improve your listening skills, whilst still providing all explanations in English. This level is suitable for people intending to travel, business people wishing to extend their professional networks and people who wish to communicate more effectively with families and friends. The classes will also include cultural information about Spain and its customs.

By the end of this course, you will be able to have a basic conversation with someone, introducing yourself, ask for directions, order food and drink at restaurants, use common daily expressions and more!

What you will learn

Course outline

In this Introduction to Spanish course, you will learn:

  • Self-introduction and introducing people
  • Asking about the names of the people
  • Pronunciation techniques
  • Useful daily expressions (how to say "thank you" etc.)
  • Numbers
  • Greetings and requests
  • Ordering food and drink at restaurants
  • Asking for conveniences
  • Asking and giving personal information
  • How to shop, "barter" and handle money in Spanish
  • The customs and cultures of different Spanish speaking countries

Course outcome

At the end of the course, you will be able to introduce yourself, greet people, utilise various means of introduction, order food and drink, ask for the bill and ask for directions to the bathrooms and local areas.

You will have an understanding of some Spanish customs and an insight into its culture.

How to Enrol

Step 1 - Choose Your Course

  • Select the non-accredited short course you are interested in.
  • Find a day and time that suits your schedule.

Note: Enrolment is open to anyone 18 years or older.

Step 2 - Enrol and Verify

  • Click ‘Enrol Now’ after selecting your course and schedule.
  • Enter your details on the enrolment page.
  • Verify your email through a secure link sent to your email address.
  • Complete the secure checkout and payment process.

Step 3 - Receive Your Enrolment Details

  • You will receive an immediate enrolment confirmation email upon successful enrolment. Check and read the attached Terms and Conditions.

  • You will receive a course reminder email a day before your class begins.
  • For Online Zoom classes, a Zoom link and password will be emailed the day before class. Use the same link and password for subsequent sessions if applicable.
