Course Overview

Rhythmic, precise and loads of fun, tap dancing is a great way to exercise whilst improving your coordination skills. The all levels adult tap dancing class is suitable for both beginners or students who already have basic knowledge.

The full range of aptitudes, learning styles and abilities are accommodated in these classes. Movements are broken down, and the logic behind techniques are explained. Classes promote high quality technique, an appropriate level of challenge, and maintain a fun, expressive and positive atmosphere.

What you will learn

Course outline

You are encouraged to challenge yourself in a supportive and fun atmosphere. All material is presented face to face, and encompasses a mixture of verbal and physical demonstration, repetition, individual work, group work and occasional opportunities for ‘free development’ in the form of jam sessions. The tutor plans classes to suit individual needs, catering to audio, visual and kinaesthetic learners.

In this Adult Tap Dancing class you will learn:

  • A variety of rhythmic tap dance combinations
  • Exercises to improve speed, accuracy and general technique
  • Rhythm based exercises
  • Progressive short choreography
  • Group work exercises
  • Creative application

Course outcome

Well-rounded introduction on the basics of tap dance, and the coordination, rhythm, timing and technique required. This is achieved in a fun, relaxed environment. Participants appreciate the challenge and often report that they have surprised themselves!

Entry requirements

No prior knowledge or experience is needed, however the course is also suitable for those with experience in tap dance.

What you need to provide

  • Tap shoes are preferred – but hard soled shoes are acceptable
  • Bottle of water
  • A notepad and pen are optional

Step 1 - Choose Your Course

  • Select the non-accredited short course you are interested in.
  • Find a day and time that suits your schedule.

Note: Enrolment is open to anyone 18 years or older.

Step 2 - Enrol and Verify

  • Click ‘Enrol Now’ after selecting your course and schedule.
  • Enter your details on the enrolment page.
  • Verify your email through a secure link sent to your email address.
  • Complete the secure checkout and payment process.

Step 3 - Receive Your Enrolment Details

  • You will receive an immediate enrolment confirmation email upon successful enrolment. Check and read the attached Terms and Conditions.

  • You will receive a course reminder email a day before your class begins.
  • For Online Zoom classes, a Zoom link and password will be emailed the day before class. Use the same link and password for subsequent sessions if applicable.
