Course Overview

Have you been dancing for six months or more? Or you already have basic dancing skills? If so come along and join Adult Tap Dancing Intermediate class!

Adult Tap Dancing is perfect for people who have been tapping for a while and want to challenge themselves with choreography, learning a new routine each term as well as polishing up on skills such as time steps, pullbacks etc. Moreover if you have tap danced in their younger years it is good time to get back into it.

Tap dance is great for co-ordination, balance, memory, cardio fitness and having fun.

What you will learn

Course outline

You are encouraged to challenge yourself in a supportive and fun atmosphere. All material is presented face to face, and encompasses a mixture of verbal and physical demonstration, repetition, individual work, group work and occasional opportunities for ‘free development’ in the form of jam sessions.
Adult tap Dancing tutor plans classes to suit individual needs, catering to audio, visual and kinaesthetic learners.

In this Adult Tap Dancing class you will learn:

  • Graboffs
  • Dancing with a cane/hat

Course outcome

Well-rounded introduction on the basics of tap dance, and the coordination, rhythm, timing and technique required. This is achieved in a fun, relaxed environment. Participants appreciate the challenge and often report that they have surprised themselves!

Entry requirements

At least 6 months of previous tap dance training.

  • Tap shoes are preferred

How to Enrol

Step 1 - Choose Your Course

  • Select the non-accredited short course you are interested in.
  • Find a day and time that suits your schedule.

Note: Enrolment is open to anyone 18 years or older.

Step 2 - Enrol and Verify

  • Click ‘Enrol Now’ after selecting your course and schedule.
  • Enter your details on the enrolment page.
  • Verify your email through a secure link sent to your email address.
  • Complete the secure checkout and payment process.

Step 3 - Receive Your Enrolment Details

  • You will receive a course reminder email a day before your class begins.
  • For Online Zoom classes, a Zoom link and password will be emailed the day before class. Use the same link and password for subsequent sessions if applicable.
