Would you like to learn the foundations of playing the guitar? Look no further than our Guitar Lessons for Beginners. This interactive course is designed to introduce foundational techniques in chords and accompaniment, fostering a fun and interactive learning environment.
During Guitar lessons you will learn about its layout, bar chords, open chords, and basic music reading encompassing rhythmic and pitch notations. Also you will explore the strumming and picking patterns providing a well-rounded understanding of guitar techniques.
By the end of the course you will have the proficiency to play chordal accompaniments using a mix of open chords, bar chords, and simple strumming patterns. These newfound skills will equip you to apply your learnings across various musical settings. Moreover it will allow you to infuse your music into a diverse range of genres and play multiple song excerpts.

In this course you will learn:
- How the guitar is laid out
- Open chords
- Bar chords
- Basic music reading – rhythmic notation, pitch notation
- Strumming and picking patterns
- Combining rhythmic reading and strumming/picking patterns to create a chordal accompaniment

Course outcome
By the end of the Guitar course you will be able to play chordal accompaniment to several song excerpts using a combination of open chords, bar chords and simple strumming patterns. You will have the knowledge to apply these skills into a variety of musical settings.

- Manuscript book/writing materials
- Electronic guitar tuner
- Guitar picks
- Capo
Other information
- Students are welcome to repeat this level if they wish to spend more time on the concepts presented. If this occurs alternate examples and exercises will be provided. Course content is adjusted to suit each class.
- Material will be presented using a combination of written and played musical examples. Students will play individually and in small groups. Feedback will be provided individually and to the group as a whole.
