Course Overview
Take part in a fun evening of ballroom dancing, including popular dance styles such as Jive, Cha Cha, Rhumba, Samba and many more. Beginners and advanced students are welcome.
In this class, everyone joins in and dances together! You don’t need to be part of a couple already or have any previous dancing experience.

What you will learn
Course outline
Each week, you will learn a variety of different dance styles including:
- Jive
- Cha cha
- Rhumba
- Samba
- Quickstep
- Waltz
- Foxtrot
- Slow rhythm
- Barn dance
- Swing
- Barn dance
- Gypsy tap
- Pride of erin
- Canadian three step
- Evening
- Three step
- La bomba
You will be given advice on dance techniques, how to lead a partner when dancing and how to be led by a partner.
Course outcome
By the end of the course, you will have confidence in dancing various ballroom dance styles. You will know how to hold your body correctly whilst dancing and how to move elegantly across the dance floor. You will understand how to lead and how to be led in different styles of ballroom dancing.

Entry requirements
This level is for the complete beginner and assumes no prior knowledge.
What you need to provide
- A water bottle
- Wear comfortable clothing and enclosed low heeled, well supported shoes
Other information
Students are shown the dance steps, which they repeat. The students then practice the steps with their partner.
