Course Overview
Escape to the great outdoors with our resident bushwalking guide‚ Greg Williams, who has been leading bushwalks around Sydney for over 33 years. You can book each bushwalk individually or book the ‘Bushwalking – Sunday Adventure Bushwalks Package’ which includes all four bushwalks at a discounted price.
Interesting to note, at noon on 7th May 1770, Captain Cook while sailing north of Broken Bay observed from sea some pretty high land which projected out in three bluff points and occasioned calling it Cape Three Points. Our walk commences from Second Point and makes it way south through the Bouddi National Park. The word ‘Bouddi’ is the local Aboriginal name for the area and has become synonymous with the National Park and the surrounding lands. It has various meanings in Aboriginal languages, however is most commonly known to mean ‘the heart’ or ‘water breaking over rocks’. On our journey south we first visit Little Beach, an often-secluded beach that is tucked away in a tiny cove. The walk captures many seaside lookouts with views that stretch down the coast to Sydney. Other highlights on this journey is Maitland Bay which got its name from the SS Maitland, a 70metre steamship that went aground on Bouddi Point on 6th May 1898. The tragedy took 29 lives of the 30 crew and 33 passengers that were onboard.
All bushwalks have morning tea provided with tea, coffee and delicious chocolate treats available.
A Course Information Guide regarding the bushwalk will be provided beforehand. Please consult the Course Information Guide prior to the walk for comprehensive information on meeting places, start times, travel directions and more.
