Designed for users of DSLR (or mirrorless SLR) cameras, this course will provide a comprehensive explanation of how to get the most from these cutting-edge cameras to execute your creative vision.
You will learn SLR operation and control, exposure, focus, composition as well as ‘silver bullets’ or trouble shooting tips needed for successful photography in travel, landscape, portrait, close-up, event, and sport photography.
This introduction course is suitable for people at the beginner and intermediate levels, as well as those looking to do a refresher course of prior learning.

What you will learn
Course outline
Comprehensive overview of the Single Lens Reflex (SLR) camera and how to get the most from it.
Topics include:
- SLR operation and controls
- Exposure, focus, composition, timing, perspective
- The ‘silver bullets’ or trouble shooting tips needed for successful travel, landscape, portrait, close-up, event, family, and sport photography
- Digital aspects; including image sizing, B&W, saving to computer, RAW conversion, and basic editing
- Photography methodology – simple steps to ensure the capture of great pictures – every time
- Familiarisation and operation of SLR camera

At the end of the course, you will have more confidence in using your DSLR (or Mirrorless SLR) camera to capture your creative thoughts and ideas.
